I agree mostly, way I see it is this:įallout 3’s level design, cluttering and more are incredible, especially in DC but its downsides are the fact that if you look at a lot of these interiors in the GECK and do a little bit of research, it becomes VERY evident that many of these areas originally connected to one of the cut DC worlds, (of which there were many) and was repurposed to fit the new locations, leading to mismatched compass directions and winding areas that head a completely different direction than where you end up in.īoston does not suffer from this issue because it doesn’t come with 3’s hardware limitations that required each DC world to be a separate worldspace, which leads to a simpler world that makes a lot more sense but does not share the same massive labyrinth-esque feel that 3 does. I think this is why I love New Vegas so much. In fact, if I recall correctly, there's only one of these dialogue choices in Skyrim and it's when a character asks you about your parents. There are even several dialogue options that reference a possible past for your character, should you pick them, but like with everything else, that's up to you.
Want them to just be a person trying to do their job and get on with their life? You got it. Want them to be a paladin of justice? You can do that too. You want them to be ruthless? Make up a backstory that fits that. So it makes sense for you to play them however way you want to. Not to mention the Courier's backstory - other than being a courier - is 100% vague. As well as FO3, the Lone Wanderer would definitely want to find their dad.
